Things Are Looking Up For Beth Chapman
A couple of weeks ago, we discussed reality television star Beth Chapman’s recent diagnosis of throat cancer. We are happy to report that she has successfully completed surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was completed on Saturday, September 17, in LA, and Beth is doing about as well as can be expected.
Duane “Dog” Chapman, Beth’s husband and star of the hit show Dog the Bounty Hunter, said, “Her doctor said we won round one. We will know more later this week. Mahalo to everyone for their prayers.”
If you were unaware, mahalo means “thank you.” It’s a Hawaii thing.
On Thursday, September 28, Beth and her family were out and about in LA. She appears to be doing well, and while there have been no official statements from her family or spokespeople, many are confident she will make a full recovery.
Beth Chapman’s Role In the Bail Bond Industry
The Chapmans have been extremely vocal advocates for the bail bond industry. They have often spoken out against bail reform legislation in many states; their main arguments are that these reforms would put many of their bail bondsmen and their family members out of work. They feel that the bail system could use some help, but that it does not need a complete overhaul. To do so would be to force replacement on a system that is only a little broken.
While we are hopeful that Beth will make a full recovery, her situation is one that many face daily. Cancer diagnoses are at an all-time high in our nation, and research is embroiled in a slow race on a muddy track against a constantly-evolving competitor. Our thoughts are with the Chapmans, and all who struggle against cancer daily.
